High level panel suggests uniform tax treatment for CSR works

NEW DELHI: The high level committee set up to suggest measures for monitoring of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives taken by India Inc has recommended leniency for companies not complying with CSR provisions of Companies Act 2013.

The committee has also recommended a review of the provisions after three years and has asked for an increase in ceiling on administrative overheads from the present five per cent to not more than 10 per cent of CSR expenditure of the company.
